Alex Cheney
Alex Cheney is a general assignment reporter and weathercaster for ABC7 Eyewitness News. He joined the team in August 2019 after spending two years at KESQ in Palm Springs, California, as a weekend evening weathercaster, sports anchor/reporter and news reporter.

Alex began his career at KYMA in Yuma, Arizona, as a weekday news anchor, producer, reporter, and fill-in weather/sports anchor.

Alex graduated from the Manship School at Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!) with his bachelor's degree in Mass Communication with a specification in Broadcast Journalism and a minor in business. Alex worked for the university's student-run news station Tiger TV for three years.

He is thrilled to return to the Disney family as he interned at ESPN in Bristol, Connecticut while in college.

Alex was born in Orange County and went to high school in Irvine. He is happy to be back in Southern California and doing what he loves! In his spare time, Alex enjoys basketball, playing guitar and hiking.
